THE PROCESS:
Just graduated
from engineering and it was time for me to claim my bike as duly promised by dad.
Dad : "Son,. i have credited the money to ur bank account, do ur reviews well, and make a purchase which wud justify ur decision".
Me : "Sure dad, will do .. !! "
That was the conversation between dad and myself, and it was thrust upon me.. my first vehicle, my first bike. I had shortlisted upon the Pulsar, but i needed an affirmation of my faith. I was at my friend&
#146;s place, and following a jab of
Pulsar on the Google search bar, a host of links turned up.
One went as "
....../mouthshut.com... ", which caught my fancy.
A click of the mouse, and i felt like i had entered a world which i never knew existed. A click here, a click there, and i had all the info i was looking for. What amazed me was that this was a site where common people, who shell out their hard earned money on various products are the protagonists, and not influenced mag columnists. My decision was made... it had to be the Pulsar.
THE EXPERIENCE :
A good three years later, I was going through the same grind again. This time was lookin at the Ford ikon Flair and needed opinions. Ask Aunt Alice, u say?? No, ask Mouthshut. Decided on the car.. now what about the dealer to choose?? Again... mouthshut has an answer... !!
As u can see, mouthshut has graduated from being just a website to a companion. Someone u can turn to with any damned doubt, no matter how silly it maybe, and u arent faced with a deaf ear.
i remember the days when i fiddled around answering people’s queries on various products and topics on the infosys Bulletin Board. Soon my comments began to get popular, and it was when a pal of mine complied the innumerous replies and posts from myself on the Bulletin board that i realized how active i had been !! It dawned upon me that it was time to target a wider audience. Mouthshut provided me that outlet.
Remember the time when the salesman had u at his mercy when he proclaimed that his offer was the best u cud ever lay ur hands upon, and all u needed then was a second opinion?? I realized that i wasnt the only one to go thru such agony. i decided to take the plunge. My very first review was based on the Pulsar which i dedicate to Mouthshut. Comments, and ratings followed, and soon in a matter of days, there were literally hundreds of people who had goen through the review...!! All this only inspired me to write further. The Trusted circle brought about a sense of relationship among various people who remained obscured behind their ids.
i have decided to stick around.. and will keep posting...
They say u cant keep a good man down... lemme rephrase that to my advantage :
