A very funky-looking mobile, with a fun 'spinning flip' and a black screen, the Motorola v.70 is a tri-band handset so you can use it in the States as well - it even switches to 1900MHz automatically for the first time on a Motorola! I've been well impressed with this phone since I got it.
It holds its signal really well and because the black screen uses less power than conventional LCDs, the battery lasts ages (about 5 days with moderate use - about 10mins calls per day). The case is much better built than previous Motorolas - I always found the v.60 and v.66 horribly creaky and badly put together, but not the v.70 - it's a precision engineered piece of artwork! Maybe Motorola have moved their factory from the US to China? The only thing I don't like is that the text messaging takes a bit longer than my old Siemens m35 - it takes a while for the phone to 'respond' when opening and sending messages - but then I don't text that much anyway. If you're not a text fiend and you're searching for a great looking little handset for phone calls, this is the one! Also, the price from Virgin was great - if you ask them nicely they'll offer you an 'as new' (returned within 28 days of original purchase, fluffed and buffed and re-sold) v.70 for £100 on pre-pay!
