Hi, I bought Lancer GLXi ~5 years back for ~9lacs and still enjoying its comfortable ride with my family and friends. In 2001, when I decide to buy a big car there was a tussle in my mind about which one to buy. There were 2-3 other good options but I finally decided to buy Lancer GLXi as the test ride experience was very good. The gear transmission, steering weel comfort, looks, bigness and lot space for driver and passengers. There is separate AC vent for back seat passengers thru a dict under the front seat. The steering wheel can be adjusted according to your height. The gear transmission is like knife on summer butter. Mileage has been consistently good 10-12 kmpl depending on use of AC.
Only issue I see is lack of qualified engineers around as we have in case of some other known models. But once you reach authorized service center (very few) all your problems are resolved. Maintenance is expensive. Power windows machines have gone bad 3 times. Had to be replaced. Power rear view mirrors were stolen 3 times. Catches attention of evryone and since its a big car, everyone tries to charge more from you thinking you are an owner of a big expensive. Though its not that expensive.
