Story:

It is a novel written in 1981 by world famous author Salman Rushdie. it deals about colonialism and independence of India. Saleem Sinai is one of the leading characters in this novel through which the story is unfolded. we can trace intertextuality in this novel. Saleem Sinai is born at the same time of India's independence. he is not a simple boy but he is born with several supernatural powers. he had a special sense of telepathy. his sense organ is also very well developed and he could smell things from a very far distance. when he was of thirty one he felt an uneasiness in his body and he thought that he might die. before any thing happens mischievous he decides to tell his life story to padma who is very loving to him. she also listens to the story very quietly. the love story of Aadam Aziz is also very interesting. he is the grandfather of Saleem Sinai and by profession he is a doctor. he marries Naseem who was once his patient. this novel has won several awards and readers will love to flip the pages of this novel. Magic realism is a tool which has been implied by the author and it successfully connects the plot of the novel to the history of a country. the age of Saleem sinai is similar to the age of India. there are several other characters also who have tried to redefine the human relationships.
