I have seen a number of negative reviews on Metro Ford in various forums which had stopped me from giving my Ikon for servicing there. I did a bit of research on other options on Ford Servicing. There are workshops which do the servicing, but nobody was ready to look into any of the engine or body complaints. The local workshop guys said that they can do servicing like any other car they do but wont be fixing any issues. On hearing this I finally made my mind to try my luck at Metro ford, st. marks road on a weekend. I called up the customer care support, and the response was very friendly in booking an appointment with them for the next day. On saturday I reached the service station two hours later than what I’d booked. The service guy was very polite and heard what I’d to say. Then he entered the details to the computer and came up with the estimates and the details of each item he had quoted. The figure was a decent Rs3500/-, considering the fact that it is a ford Ikon. I left the car at the service station and told him to complete by the next day, as I didnt want to keep the car more than a day there. The guy called me in the evening and suggested changing few more accessories which were found damaged in the inspection at the workshop. He went on to explain the details of item and its cost. I was quickly able to respond what should be done and what can be done on the next service. He also agreed to my final list and I gave him the confirmation. The next day he called and said the car was ready. As I reached the service station they brought the car, and took me for a drive to test the present condition. I was really impressed and didnt think twice to clear the bill. I just wanted to explain my experience with them. I couldn’t find a single decent review about metro ford on the net, and it delayed my decision for giving the car for service by a few weeks. I am sure some people might have had very bad experiences with them as well. Metro Ford should realize this is severely affecting their reputation. I would recommend them to take it seriously and resolve the issues. But it is always the bad experiences that are more frequently aired. I thought of putting in this review so that a maore balanced view can be obtained. I will be updating this column as I have just started driving the serviced car again. One interesting thing is that they have given back all the replaced accessories, which I havent seen happening at many places.
