We purchase goods regularly at Metro Cash n Carry, Yeshwantpur Branch. This review is related to Yeshwantpur branch of Metro in Bangalore. Metro per se, is modeled on the lines of CostCo in US meant for the bigger size, high voulme, great discounts and value goods across the range.
Range of Goods: Just OK
Ambience: just lousy; across the touchpoints: right at the front office, alleys, point of sale, stores, bathrooms...
Service: OK: purely dependent on the type of service staff that is deployed than any consistent professional approach to offer the choices or help the consumer make any informed choices
Price: definitely the biggest differentiators: you get value offerings across the available range and is definitely better than the market rates.
Quality of Goods: quite good; indeed the store brand Aro is good enough or equally good when compared to any branded item in a given range
Billing: very accurate; no hassles
Additional Deals: communication about such deals is quite scanty; and the layout of the stores is such that any communication is purely obscured with large cartons of goods...
Improvements:
Feedback: there should be a mechanism for any visitor to provide the feedback to the store. Currently its just limited to the members only. In addition so far we have not received any communication or assurance on the feedback that they would act or has acted or will do certain changes. Quite irresponsive organization.
Oversight: never ever could we come across any of the supervisors going around the alleys, interacting with the consumers, or providing real time feedback to their staff, in making the whole of the shopping experience an positive and exhilarating one. Its indeed a pity. Not that the staff are so trained a personnel that such basic oversight is nor required.
Environment: its quite dusty; unorganized; big bazaar. Wish its well organized, maintained, regular housekeeping is in full force to ensure dust n grime free enjoyable movement across the store. Sincerely wish that the staff regularly updates the racks and storage with latest batches of the goods instead of dumping around old stock.
Electronics Bay: this is an area that needs drastic improvement. First is to ensure that the staff dont hover around the consumer with all sorts of hard sell. Metro must emulate a Croma or Hypercity or Reliance Digital in its overall outlook, store layout, professional assistance in ensuring that the consumer is given that worldclass experience.
International Food Section: its a new addition; but its disappointing with very limited choice; they can emulate a Nature's Basket or Food Hall for the range and variety of the truly international products
Restrooms: quite awful; wonder if at all there is any semblance of housekeeping that exists; wonder how at all the store's leadership can give shortchange this important area of the store. Restrooms need immediate improvement with absolute healthy, hygienic, clean environment.
Professionalism: staff must wear the dress code at all times; well groomed and well appointed personnel who are conversant with the product knowledge has to be deployed; specially at the point of sales, in the alleys, front office.
Food Court: Wish they have a small food court instead of a half baked, half hearted attempt to have a small kiosk of Cafe Coffee day outlet.
Labels: price labels, discounts, to be prominently displayed at every item in the racks.
Billing: they can improve on the fast tracking the billing with laser printers; two staff members being deployed;
