Just wanted to share with everyone a horrible experience I had with Meru. I had booked a cab from my house to the railway station. I booked it around 4-5 hours before the journey. The pickup was scheduled for 6:30 in the evening.


I did not get the cab details even at 6:15 due to which I called up the Meru customer service (CS). They quickly gave me the cab details and confirmed that the cab would arrive by 6:30 as promised. But no cab arrived even at 6:45. We called up the driver whose details we had got via SMS. He mentioned that it will take another 15 mins to arrive.


We were getting late and asked him to come soon. At around 7 we called him up again and he mentioned that he was just entering our street and asked us to wait outside. We took all our luggage and come outside our house but didn't find any driver waiting. We tried calling him and to our horror the phone was unreachable !!. We tried for the next 20 mins and still the phone was unreachable.


We were very worried as it was more than 25 kms to the station from our house and we were getting late. Its a long walk to the main road and with all the luggage we had it was difficult for us to go there to get an auto.We finally called the Meru CS again and after holding for around 5 mins the guy finally responded saying that the driver had waited outside our house from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM and left as no one turned up.


We were shocked to hear such a lie! How can he just say such a thing when clearly the driver had called us at 7 PM telling that he was entering our street. We asked him several questions like why in such a case did the driver not call us and why was his mobile switched off? The CS guy had no answer to any of our questions. When we told we will complain and put a case he casually told us to go ahead an put a case.


We really could not believe such a kind of behavior from Meru. Luckily an auto guy passed by us and we were able to make it to the railway station just on time. I put across a complaint to Meru regarding all this.


I just got a reply from them saying that they will look into this issue but never heard from them back again. Really it was just a horrible experience from Meru and my advice to everyone would be to make sure that they arrange for alternatives for important trips.
