As Khushwant Singh's reputation, this book is a typical collection of his memories with the people whom he met and described in straightforward way, though some may describe satirical. His collection includes people from different walks of life like, industrialists, politics civil services etc. It is certainly not true that he met only these persons. He had surely met many more influential persons in his bearing of different capacity. But, he chose to describe them only in the book.
As his typical style, and no exception to this book as well, he has described some of the women very interestingly. Amrita Sher Gil, whom he met only two times in his entire life, he has given priority to write on her. This is an interesting book to read to all those who are his fans and for many others a swell.
