I went to the General Physician Dr Viswa Prasad for a normal headache for my mother(since this hospital was nearby and doctor available on walk-in). I pay a first time registration fee of 100/- plus his consultation fee of 450/- and consult him. He calls the nurse and without even asking my mom, the nurse just extracts blood for checking blood sugar(I had to pay 100/-additional for this 1second blood test). Also the doctor thinks for 5minutes on which paper to take and then asks us to get Xray done for spine that too Without explaining what could be the problem. Since he was in a hurry to leave for the day, we paid another 500/-and did the xray test and immediately gave the reports to him.
Then he immediately writes for MRI scan!without any second thoughts?!He also said medihope doesn't have that facility and I will have to visit another centre.Then he takes a paper nd starts drawing some route map sort.
Since I had taken a prior MRI from a centre in indiranagar area I told him I will get it done there as I know the place.But he said not to do from there and he insisted I go to his particular Scan centre.When I asked him for the name of the centre, he was still explaining the roadmap.Finally I told him I will chk GPS and locate it, if he tells me the address, then he gives me a persons phone number and asked me to call then and there.Somehow I was sceptical and decided to not call the MRI guy.
My mom was also not too happy as the doctor did not even give a single tablet so that she would be OK until evening atleast for some relief.
He expected an ill old woman to travel to his "Favourite "scan centre without any basis c treatment just to fill up his pockets!
After paying up such huge sums also it's not a solution to the problem, and an MRI to be taken without explanation! I just read the reviews of this hopeless place after coming back and then only realised how many people(esp IT professionals) have fallen prey to these money minded docs.
Same day I took her to another diagnostic centre nearby and she has given just vitamin tabs and acidity tabs.She assured us that tests are required only if this is recurring or if she has another episode.
Now it makes sense why he was thinking for sometime before asking for xray, he eventually wanted us to take MRI and get his commission plus meet his target.
People who steal are actually far better than such doctors in disguise.Please avoid if you want to save your life and hard earned money.These doctors should learn that not everyone has insurance and being ill is not the time to loot money for your fancy and luxury.
I also learned today after this incident that my husband had gone there earlier(2years back to this same doctor) for a normal cold and he had prescribed very expensive medicines plus multiple tests like urine, blood sugar etc!So this is routine since years is what I understand.Please avoid and save your souls.
