Staff Attitude:

On Mid-Feb this year(2017) I admitted my 74 yr old father-in-law to this hospital when he complained about chest pain. It was the nearest hospital to my residence. We booked him under the Medicine Specialist doctor attached to the hospital. Earlier the doctor treated the patient in OPD 2 yrs back, so we knew him. The patient was admitted in ICU since the preliminary symptom from ECG indicated a heart attack. My father-in-law was having his CGHS card, unfortunately this hospital stopped entertaining CGHS card facility few months ago. The situation prevented us to shift the patient to Jaydeva kind of speciality hospital. 25000 Rs. have to be paid straight away for ICU patient admission. 11000 Rs. is the ICU charge per 24 hour. The patient had a small lung congestion also as per the preliminary X-Ray. Every time whenever we met the Specialist doctor, we came to know that the patient's heart condition was getting improved, but the lung congestion was increasing. We were surprised to see that within ICU day by day the patient's condition got deteriorated by increase of lung congestion whereas his primary ailment was improved. As per the hospital they called outside pulmonologist who gave his advices. They changed number of times the antibiotic courses, but nothing worked. I can say, no confidence I found on the treatment procedure they carried. They made the situation so critical I could not bring out my patient out of the hospital to somewhere other bigger hospital. Craving for breathe in CPAP mechanism, my father-in-law expired on 20th Feb afternoon. We asked for the culture report and H1N1 test report to know the exact cause of the lung congestion. Those tests were done on 17th Feb as per earlier communication. Bills were also made for them. The doctors could not produce any report. One doctor by slip of tongue told that the test samples were supposed to be sent on 20th Feb morning, We were so shattered at that moment due to that mishap, we did not argue further.

For that horrible 116 hours, hospital bill was Rs. 1, 35, 000 - and we spent more than 25, 000 on medicines separately. And ultimately what we get in return, the deadbody and entirely worst experience.

My observation:

1) Very less, may be 1 or 2 permanent doctors are attached with this hospital.

2) It is run mainly by junior inexperienced doctors.

3) Less confident doctors and staffs - no guarantee of correct treatment

4) OPD may be good, but ICU is terrible. I cannot forget my begging eyes of father-in-law to get him out of ICU asap

5) Behaviour is good, but that cannot produce any confidence for the patient party.

Avoid this hospital. Save your patient.
