McDowell is marketing this product since long using Single Malt as a brand name. According to my information this is the only one of its kind made in this country.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What is a Single Malt Whisky?
It’s not a blend. Single Malt is type of Scotch Whisky produced by one particular distillery and not mixed with any other whisky from any other sources. This is produced by fermentation process which is a complicated process and very sensitive to quality of ingredients and techniques. In most of the cases technology is very closely guarded.
Single Malt of McDowell
I do not remember when I first tested it but I am fond of it from the very first day. This virgin drink is the only single malt produced in this country. Thanks to McDowell.
Specialty of this drink is smoothness and flavor. It flows though the troth with a Mulayam feeling. Its unique flavor can not be matched by many of its kind.
It is available in 750 ml Green Glass Bottle. I have not seen this brand in small packs.
Yet to know about any other Indian brand in this category.
How to drink Single Malt
I spend quite a bit of money because of it taste, smoothness and aroma. Someone may say - There is no right or wrong way to drink Single Malt. I do not agree to it. My way to enjoy Single Malt -
I do not dare to add ice cubes because it will spoil the evening by diluting its taste and wonderful aroma.
I do not even add a pinch of chlorine free water to it because I pay a lot for the taste. Friends may suggest to add a touch of water, particularly if it is pure, will release the aroma. But in this country no one can have water without chlorine. Tap water in my country contains high amounts of chlorine and it does not complement any whisky.
Carbonated water is not an ideal combination for a whisky as it may interfere with the aroma.
There are many popular trends. People mix all kind of soft drink and even fruit juice.
Why drink Single Malt at all if someone wants to mask the taste and aroma?
Drink neat and not even on the rocks. One should know the limit and consume less than the limit. I am 45 but fortunately have not experienced Hangover. Friends, Single Malt is capable to make one crazy and hangover next day.
Very spicy bites do not complement Single Malt. I prefer salad, peanuts, and cheese. Once my wife served Lobster roast with just sufficient salt and no spices. That was good.
How to Enjoy Single Malt
My Single Malt seasons are Monsoon and Winter. I prefer naturally cool atmosphere.
''For the purpose of enjoying malt whiskies you need certain basic equipment: a supply of water, a glass, a mouth, a nose, and —optionally—a pair of eyes. Plus, of course, the whisky.'' (From the net)
The water - ought to be tasteless if you prefer to add little. I recommend neat.
The glass - should be tulip-shaped, with a narrow opening. The open-mouthed cut glass article that is traditionally called a whisky tumbler is not the right one.
The mouth – Any shape and size is okay. Only purpose is to pour the drink for tasting. Prior to tasting it is better to clean to avoid interference of any other flavors like chocolate, tobacco, etc.
The tongue and palate - both of which are located within the mouth, detect the primary tastes: sweet, sour or acidic, salty, bitter or dry.
The nose – One of the most important tool in the kit. Nosing Single Malt is a true delight and reveals true character of a whisky. Whisky too has a distinct bouquet and a few characteristics are easily identifiable such as Smoky and Sweet or Caramel smell. The bouquet can change remarkably as water is added.
The eyes – Optional. Colour of whisky may mislead. So my advice is not to give much importance to it. A pale whisky may be as rich and strong like dark one. Colour depends on the process and how it is matured.
The highest concentration of malt whisky distilleries is in Scotland, which is divided in many regions. Regions have own particular distinctive style of malt whisky. It is possible by experts to identify a malt whisky by its region but unfortunately I am not among them. Please note that no two Single malts are identical because of their unique processes.
You know you had to much whisky when : (from web)
You try to brush something of your shoulders and find out it's the floor,
Or
You have to screw up one eye to see double
or
You wake up in the morning lying on the floor, because your dog licks you in the face, and then you think...
''I do not have no dog !''
What is a Blended Scotch?
Blended Scotch whisky normally contains a combination of whiskies from different sources and may be from several malt and grain distilleries.
Quantity of malt used will determine the quality and smoothness of taste and character. Normally ratio of malt to grain is 60 : 40. In most of the cases whisky will be matured at least for 5 years before blending.
