I got my son admitted to Max( NICU) for a day. While admitting, they said that it is our policy that even if you are being admitted for a day which may cost approx. Rs 7000/-, we will need a deposit of 40, 000. I paid that deposit through my credit card. After that they inform me that if the refund is higher than 20, 000, they will send me a cheque after 7 working days. My son was discharged on 2nd Nov. Today is 18th Nov.I am yet to receive the refund of approx. 32, 000. When I called the hospital, they stated that the cheque is ready and that I can come and collect it.
This is the most high handed and unfair treatment that could have been meted out to people. World over, especially in hotels, credit cards are blocked( not transacted) and when you are checking out of the hotel, actual transaction takes place basis the final bill and the block is removed.
If Max was fair, my questions are:
Why could Max not do the same i.e. block my credit card and then charge me only the final bill. That would help both sides.
Why could they not give me a cheque while discharging.they took the money immediately but want 7 working days to process the refund!
Look at the attitude.they do not bother to inform me that the refund has been done. When I call, they say that I should come and collect.how fair is that?
