Matheran is one the closest hill station where you can go from mumbai.
If you are going by road you can drive up to Dasturi naka from there you have
to walk or take a pony ride to Matheran as no vehicle are allowed .
Its a pleasent walk thru the train tracks and it takes nearly half an hour to
reach Matheran . The other way is to go by central railway upto Neral .
You can always take the toy train from Neral to Matheran .
There are many points to see there like monkey point, alexander point,
echo point, etc.
There are many hotels to suit ones budget. Be there and enjoy .
