Hyundai employee trying to increase sales of a not so selling Verna. (after sx4 was launched)
I have been using the SX4 for almost 7 months now, clocked about 7000 kns and have had absolutely no problem to worry about except a little rattle from the dash which they rectified and a little jerk once in a while during pick up from 1st gear, which they said is a faulty clutch and maruti has issued a circular to change all those free of cost so the guy said he’ll rectify it whenever i have the time and it will take a day. Besides the jerk happens once in a while not during every pick up. I get about 9.5-10 max in city traffic which is not bad (not worth paying 1.5 lac more for vtec which gives almost same mileage in the city and which feels like driving a toy and which has absolutely no safety features unless you pay more and take the abs option(anyone would rather take a corolla or a cedia or skoda for that price). And even with ABS and airbags its not safe on the highway above 100kmph. Try the SX4 at those speeds! And ABOVE all one scratch on the honda and the service guy will rip you off but not so in maruti, he painted my scratches free of cost.
I found the SX4 to have excellent handling, very decent rally like suspensions, little bumpy (so is the BMW 3 series, cause is firm suspension) and excellent brakes, ground clearence is the best. I zoom over the breakers, try it in a honda. Some of our badly lit roads, and you dont see a breaker and you zoom past with 5 people and the honda suspension may give way! In the SX4 you may not even feel it! A/C is very good, especially the auto mode and the stereo is good very easy to use and looks neat , nice big buttons easy to identify even for the passenger. I feel the sound quality is pretty good cause i dont blast it but if somone wants better they can just put 2 additional speakers in the rear parcel shelf.
I dont even want to mention Verna cause the diesel sounds like a truck when idle, after hearing that i didnt even want to drive it! Dont know about petrol. Besides Hyundai’s rep is very bad all over the world including the U.S. Except for santro no other car is good. Vernas looks are not to my taste.
I feel the previous revies guy should buy a Mercedes S Class, but I feel there also he’ll find problems! 7km/l is rubbish and so is the review!
Hope you guys found the review useful and for me SX4 is the best bet at its price. I suggest take the non leather option and put stanley leather its much better and you can save about 10K also.
P.S. Gears are a little hard when putting in 1st only but after a few months you dont feel it.
