Maruti seriously need to spend more money and put better tyres.Keeing in mind the only 4 points hold the car and the road are the

tyres - they have put JK tyres ...not after spending 8 lacs for a car.

It was a tough decision to take while buy this car ...I had narrowed down to Verna and SX4. During test drive of SX4 - keep getting this humming sound from the road.  Verna test drive was also good - felt it was smoother. I previously owned an Accent - so reliability wise i was comfortable with Hyundai products.

But, featurewise we are getting much more with SX4. So went for it. Surprisingly, the humming sound was there on the new car too. So first thing i changed was the Tyres ....to Michelin...got hardly any value for the JK ones...about 2 K per tyre...but the change was worth every paisa spent...no more humming...much better grip.

Beside putting reverse sensors, leather seats, HID kit for headlamps and fog.. - didnt have much to add one...it has everything.

I am still running in...so the mileage sucks...planned a GOA trip via NH4 in Dec -lets see how she handles the highway

1st Service : Did change the oil/filter. Got the service done at 350 as if i planned it after the Goa trip i would have crossed 2000+ kms. Service was ok...But pretty disappointed with the delivery. The car was still dirty from inside, black stains on  the door oppolstry but got it fixed. Got the engine polished and laminated - looks great.

02-Jan-2008 : Back from Goa Trip. Great ride but a little bumpy at the back. People behind got tossed around quite a lot.  Managed to pedalled it to 160 kmph (156 on GPS) while coming back but i am sure it would have done 165 ot 170 - didnt want to take chance with the new car :)

No other issues on the car during the drive - very smooth, greate handling on the curves inspite of higher COG. Some slopes had to move to 1st gear to climb.  I think igot about 12 Kmpl on the highway (inspite of the 100 + average run). Completed the journey in 8.5 hrs via pune..

In a nut shell
 - ZigZag Handling : great on the curves, the power steering responded great. People behind got  headaches
- Highway Handling : No vibrations on the Steering upto 150, After that a little shake on the steering. Will try and reduce the air pressure to see if it helps
- Off road handling : great in the front, People behind got tossed. Didnt bottom at all...
- Comfort : very good, AC worked like a charm on the "Climate" control Setting. At some points it was freezing inside inspite of the out side being at 35+
- Breaking : Couple of sudden breaks - ABS kicked in. but the left passanger Seat belt didnt lock at one point ...dangerous. 
- Music: The steering controls are good but kept hitting them while driving. - have to get used to it. Great sound. need more bass / punch...guess need to invest in a tube bass.
