This is my second car from Maruti and I firmly belive in their committment. I am not a technical expert and will share only pros & cons as I see them.
Pros.
Looks - Especially the ZXI
variant it really gets attention.
Big - Atleast from the outside!!
Safety - ABS / Airbags - creating a new Benchmark in the segment.
Ride - Smooth as Silk / Position of the Driver is excellent.
FE - No problem there (I used to get 11 KMPL in my Palio 1.6 and 11-12 KMPL in my Baleno)
I expect atleast 11-12 KM in City conditions.
Service - Ever reliable Countrywide Maruti Service
Cons.
Seats - Certainly Maruti could improve the middle seat in the rear. It really is an serious issue,
Pillar - Will have to be careful while negotiating turns or round abouts since the A-PILLAR will
block the view for fraction too long. B-Pillar is not a issue because of the bigger rear
view mirrors.
Audio - The quality is not OK. Maruti could have installed a better one for some additional few
thousands. Changing the system now will cost us a fortune.
AC - The Automatic Climate Controller is not digital. This is something which does not
go well with the image of the car. (The digital display indicates only the outside temp)
Conclusion.
I have shortlisted 2 cars (Honda City Vtec & Toyota Coralla) before even stepping into Maruti Showroom because I did not want to own 2 Maruti cars. But it was love at first sight. It compared well with my other shortlised 2 cars and provided something in addition like, Airbags & ABS which are essential in the current driving condition. If you are looking for a good value for money car then it should be SX4 only. If you are looking for more space without comproming on ride quality then it should be Innova Petrol. (If you are prepared to wait for 3 months after booking)
