Yes the honda dominance has finally been broken atleast for may[however see no reason why it cannot continue],the sx4 has outsold the honda city,coupled with the fact that Hyundai Verna diesel sales have also picked up means gloomy days ahead for the present honda city in India.Precisely why honda is  going in for another facelift by this diwali[a little unscheduled]  before coming up with an all new platform by 2008.So prospective honda city customers be warned you will sit with an old model in just a few months time.

Coming to the sx4 there was a problem with the ac due to faulty subros kit in the initial sx4’s and this has been rectified now and the ac is fantastic now,request owners to please contact their dealers at first service for the same.Amazingly demo cars have not yet been rectified because dealers are not getting time such is the demand for even test driving the sx4.The sx4 can seat 5 comfortably at the back,would request to go on a long drive and check the same for yourselves,the protuding arm rest is not much of a problem.The biggest advantage of this car is the on road stability ,miles aheads of the honda competitor.With the ground clearance more than that of an SUV just waiting this monsoon to show the other cars[suv’s even] who’s boss.Getting in and out is so easy even with a saree.The engine is not very silent/refined like the honda city,its more of a hooligan urging you to push the car to further limits,be warned even sedate drivers could fall for this.No I did not find any loss in power with ac.Fantastic road view from the car for both driver as well as passengers.The boot space is humongous.You will not feel any body roll,these are just marketing tactics from the competitors,same about build quality I own both honda as well as the sx4 now and must say that I dont find the sx4 inferior in anyway.My brother is a boy racer and still he managed about 12.5 kmpl in city with ac at 20’C.Maruti dealers say it could get better after  service This is compared to the 13 kmpl we get in our honda city gxi very good mileage.

Now the negatives,design could have been a lot more better I dont like the looks of either the honda city or the sx4.Maruti is targetting men and not women not fair,this is reflected in choice of colours as well.There should have been more colours to choose from.The waiting period has become too much and i see a few frustrated people[however i advice them caution ,because they will know what a wonderful package they are missing out on].Be warned unless you are experienced taking U-turns especially in city traffic is a problem.If they had been more thoughtful you could have a whole lot more of space inside[just now it is just adequate].

Being an owner of the NHC ZX gxi and the sx4 ZXi which would i recommend,blindly go in for the sx4 but yes please do hurry because a lot more people will beat you to the line at the dealer and that means more waiting period.
