The Gypsy isn't a family vehicle however a real 4x4 off roader(in truth the sole one out there here in Republic of India and no the Boleros/Safaris/CRV's don't seem to be off roaders).
Do not obtain one if you intend on victimisation it to commute twenty miles everyday unless your geographic point is somewhere up within the Kumaon Hills. Ride isn't the least bit snug and every one your passesngers can curse you each time it runs over a pothole/bump.
However if you're a individualist, like being off from humanity, love nature you wish to explore it on your own terms then the Gypsy is for you. it's a reasonably smart choose up(power/weight quantitative relation of 80BHP/tonne), nice transmission, is extremely reliable, very powerful, real fun to drive and "very" capable off the road. Nothing beats a Gypsy unless you've got a motorcar Wrangler.
