I have 2012 model VDI. Done 156K kms.
Though it is a practical car for big family but it is high on maintenance.
Average service cost every10K kms is approx 10-12K. After every 40-50K kms gear box rings need to be replaced which wasn't a problem earlier when Fiat diesel engines were being used as per maruti service advisors. This problem started since Maruti started using it's own diesel engines. And along with rings they change the clutch plate set also which sets you back by 17-18 K approx. I've never seen a maruti whose clutch plates are changed after 40-50 k kms.
I've already owned Alto which was fantastic car& clocked 180k kms without any trouble.
