I have been owning an A-star since August 2011. It was an year of economical and comfortable journey. To be honest, I count every penny that I spend and it is mandatory for me that I get returns for what I invest. That being said, I have done a through analysis of all the models available in the market and zeroed out to A-start for the following reasons. A-star lived up to my expectations and its a real value for money.
Why A-star is best car for me?
The on-road cost during festival season in Kerala was just 3.73 Lacs. Its not a huge money for a car.
Superb Mileage - Guys trust me, on city traffic - 15 Km/Ltr if you follow best driving rules and in highways its 19 Km/Ltr, again follow best driving lessons.
Maintenance - Service to Service, you just need to do nothing. Fill petrol, drive, that's all. 6 months one paid service, I don't know the cost yet but looks like some 1500/-
Ground clearance - can compete to an SUV, you know I stay at a place, all bumpy roads and potholes, I never heard my car hitting hard on the mud.
A/C and comfort - Powerful A/C and extreme comfortable journey.
Design & look - Rear of my car looks like expensive Honda Jaaz.
Plastics are really good and rich looking.
Caution
Rear space - Are you travel freak, carry a lot of luggage with you, may not be right option for you
Side view - The width of the iron rode between your mirror and driver seat glass is thicker than required, this block the side view a bit especially when you are a at pause and starting to take a curve at signals.
Gear shift - May be its an issue with my car, sometimes, the gears become little hard and putting to reverse gear is a night-mayor
Overall, its value for money. If you are pursuing for your first car, you can blindly get this one. You won't be disappointed and I guarantee that.
Thanks
Arun
