Maruti Suzuki introduced Omni in India in 1985. It was followed by the Versa to create a market for a family vehicle. The Omni was a huge success though it was not that great a car. Versa failed and had to be discontinued. Maruti Suzuki then brought Eeco in the Indian market.
The sliding doors of Eeco makes getting in & out easy for the middle row passengers. The interiors are two-tone shades of beige and grey.It povides ample leg room and head room. Just like the Omni & the Verna, safety features have been compromised. The vehicle comes with two years or 40, 000km manufacturer warranty.
Eeco has a 1.2-litre petrol engine which gives a power output of 73bhp at 6, 000 rpm and a torque of 101Nm. It has a five-speed manual gearbox. It gives a mileage of around 14 kmpl for petrol and about 18 kmpl for CNG. It has a good suspension unlike the Omni. It comes with five-seater and seven-seater options.
Overall a Good car for a lrge family and for outing with lot of luggage.
