On the bright side, Manneys offer a wide variety of books, including rare editions of mathematics papers and cinema reviews.
On the dark side, it doesn't offer couches to read comfortably as a proper bookstore. This is due to the implicit rule of "no reading, only buying."
My personal experience is as follows:
I went into the math section where I found a fair amount of editions, topics and authors. I took a calculus book and a small chair that was lying unused at a corner; then, I was roaming through some of its chapters. It was interesting, extremely interesting I must say, and I was eager to buy it. I was just sitting on that corner. For how long? Maybe 20 minutes, perhaps 30, I don't know exactly, the book was gorgeous. Suddenly, one of Manney's staff members come to me and says: "This is not a library, people come here to buy books, not to read them"
"What a nonsense, what's the point of having books if you cannot read them?"
I simply left. By the end of the day, Manney's lost one eager customer.
