Simbhu the name brings to my mind the guy who tries to imitate Rajnikanth badly and acted in movies which are big box office duds as well as bad. So when friends told
me this was good i couldnt believe it and wanted to check it out myself. I changed my mind about simbhu after watching this movie. Gist of the Movie The story is based on revenge as the main point. Simbhu acts in a double role with second half being the flash back which reveals the reason for the revenge move. In the flashback, we are told that the two Simbus are twins and the killer is taking it out on young girls because he himself is a victim of young girls (Sindhu Tolani) cheating. After being loved and thrown away by Sindhu, the other Simbu develops a hatred for women. So he goes on a seduction and killing spree.
The first half is the best with great performance by simbhu. It keeps you glued to your seat and screen (except for the songs) with great pace and twists which will keep you thinking. The second half is somewhat laid back and with the flashback the pacy first half turns a little slow but not boring. The best moment comes at the end with an unexpected twist which is the best of the movie.
Performance Since simbhu ghost directed himself he made sure he got all the attention but for a change acts well. The rest of the cast with not much screen time are wasted. Jyothika comes in as the love interest of simbhu and adds to the good story line. Goundamani and atul kulkarni are wasted in small mediocre roles.
Yana Gupta and Mandira Bedi make special appearances in couple of songs gyrating to simbus tune ( oh i think he had a hand in the music dept too)
Music . Screeplay, Direction Music by yuvan shankar Raja is ok with some peppy numbers and the best song being Kadhal vallathaen.
Talking about screenplay, Direction u would think that acting as a hero itself is a great challenge but simbu handles these with ease.
Final Say With the exception of some songs and a little slow second half the movie has got everything you look forward in a thriller. The climax will keep you thinking for a while ala sixth sense.
