My dad(82 Years) was admitted for a surgery. The surgery went well. We are pleased with the doctor who did the surgery. But We are very disappointed with pathetic service and poor treatment.
1) Very insensitive to elderly patient. We requested special meal for my dad. first, the meal did not come on time. It took 5 calls, multiple escalations to get the food. finally food came after wait of one hour. Then we found that dietary restriction were not followed. It took another 30 minutes to get the required food.
2) Unacceptable slow response to patient needs - We have to ask multiple times to get the required medication, get the urine catheter collection bag cleared, etc.
3) We paid heavy price to be in special private room. Rooms are charged at 9800 rupees per day. But, the basic amenities in the room did not work. Toilet flush was not working and it took 3 hrs to get it repaired. TV remote was not available. It took 10 reminders and 2 hrs 40 minutes to get the remote.
Is this what we expect from a world class hospital where the cost is 300-400% of a normal hospital? I am shocked! am ready to except sometimes issues do happen, but I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with multiple issues during this time. That being said, I will again repeat that doctors are really competent but the services needs major improvement.
I really hope Manipal Management staff reads this constructive feedback, take immediate correction and preventive actions.
