I visited the restaurant with my family again after a long gap. We had a very bad experience previously after which we decided we would never go back again, but none of us remembered this when we were looking for a restaurant that evening. About 15mins after we entered the restaurant, a steward at last realizes that someone has to take the order but the order taking captain/manager is untraceable, after another 5mins the captain took our order.
We had asked for a chicken platter as our starter. out of 5 dishes on the platter 1 was almost on the verge of getting spoil t/ stale. The other 4 dishes were really good.
We ordered Neer Dosas and Kerala chicken curry.Taste- Excellent Quantity- Very Small Portions for the priceValue for Money- Ridiculous
We Then asked for some Mutton BiryaniMeat-Well Marinated Rice- The rice used in the biryani was no where close to basmati, it was much longer with no smell of authentic basmati, which they claim. The rice did look like vermicelli cut into two pieces. Flavour- as Rice plays an important role in adding the flavour to the biryani, flavour is partially lost.Overall Taste- Average Quantity- Very small Portion with very few and small pieces of meat.Value for Money- Poor
We almost had enough of malgudi, but my brother was eager to try the dessert.We ordered the mangalorean payasam.Taste-Excellent Quantity- Sufficient for one, but two of us shared.Value for money-Good
To Top it allOur bill took a liesure 15 mins after asking for it.The manager never bothered to turn up when we asked for him, as the service was really poor.
I hope someone from Malgudi takes note of such reviews.I have bid good bye to Malgudi, I hope they do something before many others do.
