I recently took my 70 yr old mother who suffered a fracture from a fall, to Malar hospitals. Met Dr Vijay Kumar(Ortho). He advised a casting around the toe and we left for home. My mom, who also has an issue of incontinence(inability to hold urine) had a lot of trouble walking to the rest room. Sometimes, she couldn't control her urine, a few drops of which would drip on the casting. Dr VIjay repeatedly abused my mother for the reason that the casting was a little soiled and there was odor. He did not even care to touch my mom's fractured toe to see the progress. We paid 500 Rs for nothing and returned. It did not stop. When we went to meet him for the second time, he continued being abusive and was very inhuman. He directed the nurse to take my mom outside his office to redo the casting.
A person, who has chosen this profession, first needs to be patient and be considerate towards ailing patients. If all people are able to solve their health problems at home, then how do these guys get paid and how do hospitals run? We come from a very orthodox family with great discipline, culture and hygiene sense. But for this fracture, my mom has been an extremely disciplined lady. I lost my respect for this doctor.
The hospital must take a strict notice of such things and educate their physicians to be tolerant, dignified towards patients. I am writing this review only because of the pain my mom went through after visiting him. She felt very low and we helped to boost her morale
