The first point I would like to mention is its a jeep not an SUV, coming to Thar in some aspects its more than a SUV.It does make a sense of safety with all metal, despite of the fibre bumpers, yes you dont need airbags if you tangle seat belts, its my perception with my Thar.

Does not be the same for all. What can you expect from 9 lakh rupee one Mahindra has given powerful engine I really mean it it can speed to 150kmph, plenty of Torque, outstanding 4X4, good A/C, coming to dashboard and interior, it should be such basic in a jeep.

\For the price you pay you wont get leather dash and luxury one, maintenance  is almost zero, cheap service costs, but worst mahindra experience, this is so crucial, but its for every Mahindra not only for Thar, the sales and service of Mahindra is worst, I got an engine manufacturing defect in my Thar, these fools dont know what the problem is, later I proceeded legally to get it rectified, OK its a different story, lets talk about the vehicle in all aspects

1.BRAKING-My Thar is 2014 one it has got upgraded booster so brakes are perfect no worry at all and the cost of brake pads also cheap.

2.FUEL ECONOMY-I never got below 10kmpl, even on high speed of 140 and 8 passengers, the best I achieved was 14kmpl on non A/c, so on average you can expect 11-12kmpl. dont concern about this low fuel economy it is very much saving when you compare to your sedans and SUV maintenance hope you got my view.

3.AIRCON.-its adequate, not too god or not average but its good the rear passengers get better than front ones due to bad air vents design, driver cant feel the breeze due to design of vents but one can turn them completely reverse to get to the driver face, A/C is chilling up to the mark.

4.HANDLING & COMFORT-extremely capable of any terrain, its really amazing on highway I traveled for 2300 kms in 36 hours I hardly felt any ache, the ride was very comfortable, the extreme potholed roads and deep ditches are nothing for this vehicle never retreat your foot from the gas on the bad roads hit triple digit speeds you wont feel any discomfort, but for rear passengers its a HELL due to leaf springs but you can tune them, front ones are lucky, Thar is also meant for highways and for humble drivers it can replace their sedans and SUVs .offset steering makes no difference, it has got less turning radius, suitable best for urban traffic in fact it is equal to length of i20 approx.

5.4X4-There is nothing to mention about this, its already proven.

6.MAINTENANCE COSTS-I think its almost equal to owning a Maruti, the engine oil 5 litres and filter(to be changed at every 20000kms) etc  costs around 2200 bucks and at intervals the axle fluids etc cost you same its very cheap maintenance dont think about this.but only trouble is Mahindra's worst service, if you are a Bangalorean then you are lucky since you have got Sireesh Auto, he is specialist in Thar through out, dont bother about fuel economy 13kmpl is decent for this all round vehicle.

7.SPACE-Thar can accommodate 7 persons spaciously, The driving position is commanding.

8.VALUE FOR MONEY-more than 100%VFM.

Finally, dont think too much about this vehicle, if you want to be unique and use it as a daily commuter, inevitably go for Thar, it demands some respect, its for MEN not for boys.I heard many saying its crude, yes I agree it should be, its lacking those stupid features which are for handicapped, under the hood it has got all the adequate stuff for which you pay, so think before you compare THAR to your silly sedans and costly SUVs.
