The Thar DI 4WD is the mid-level variant, or one can say that it is a mechanically upgraded version of the lower-spec variant. This model is propelled by the same 2.6-litre diesel mill producing 63bhp and 182.5Nm of torque and the engine give you an decent milage almost 13.25 in city's and 16.55 in highways so it is really cool to use with decent milage. What distinguishes it with base DI 2WD model is its drive layout. Power is transmitted to all 4-wheels of the utility vehicle via a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. The variant doesn’t have any entertainment source for passengers, even there is no air conditioning on offer. For passenger safety, there is very little on offer which includes halogen headlamps, side and front impact beams and centrally mounted fuel tank. The vehicle misses out on some important features including airbags, anti-lock braking system and others.
