Matiz to Scorpio Special Edition VLX MicroHybrid BS IV

Why did I  buy this vehicle?

==

I bought my Deawoo Matiz in Yr 2000.  Kudos to Delhi autowala’s who inspired me towards a heavy utility vehicle- which scares them, threaten them and caution them** ‘to snatch my way’… hit the auto’s so they roll in the air (right and left) … Anyways, but gradually I grew with time, realized it happens only in movies.

I always had aspiration for a Jeep Vehicle. Wanted to buy a vehicle with heavy muscular** looks at the same time Indian brand.  After Deawoo Matiz, decided no foreign brand vehicle, one doesn’t know when they will leave. So criteria one - Indian Brand, criteria two - Jeepish Muscular vehicle.

Had mad confusing time choosing between Tata Dicor and Scorpio.  Did research, spoke to people around, read experts views and decided for Scorpio. Of course read all the reviews on MouthShut .

Then the Model / Version of Scorpio : SLX, VLX, Automatic etc., uff, why life is not easy! Thought I will buy automatic – but ‘kithna they thee hai*’ mantra (how much does it give) ? to low and sale of automatic is also too low.  So Automatic is out!

After using small basic car, wanted to have all the luxury feel and Mighty Muscular Vehicle** so decided for VLX MicroHybrid – fortunately ‘Special Edition’ was available. So here is my Scropio VLX MicroHybrid Special Edition!

What I like and dislike about this vehicle. ==*

Bought it on 25th August 2011, ran for 3000+ km so far.

What is like is the interior, european seat covers, pearl white color of vehicle, audio, video, special buttons around the steering for quick access,

Don’t like is ‘quality of few material’ such as Incomplete work of Steering Cap (the threading is incomplete – kiya yaar!*)

PearlWhite color of special edition is not very outstanding like Tata safari – but its tick hai types…

A/C ‘will’ trip when you run it in Fan 1 and Fan 2.  Mahindra Authorised workshop says, that’s default and have no solution. When you switch the A/C in Fan speed 1 or Fan Speed 2, you hear a ‘tick’ ‘tick’ sound – that’s A/C Tripping sound.

In-built stereo is pretty good investment and dvd player and cd player is not bad at all… v good product.

Left-Hand-Side Door Lock Latch, stopped functioning after one month. Very disappointing**.  Imagine a SUV worth 13 L, after you lock the door with or without remote – it still opens ! security issue !!! (Defective Door Latch) – still a special edition?

Describe your driving experiences with this vehicle? *

It’s a huge vehicle! Indeed!!

I never realized when we see it, but you realize when you drive it … its pretty huge --- like an elephant on road and rats around …

Who should buy this vehicle? Who shouldn't? *

Anybody who can afford can buy it J worth investment if you take care of it well. Take home Costed me ( 12, 75, 457/- )

Dealer*

Dealer gave me a full ride – on date of delivery, the dates got pushed for a month.  I immediately got in touch with Mahindra & Mahindra, Bombay via email and customer care telephone line.  They were good – really really good.  Responded and got in touch with my dealer. Dealer got really scared – dealer requested me not to get in touch with Mahindra Support either via email or phone.

Wow! Vehicle delivered as requested on time.

Servicing*

I was mistaken and gave my first serving on 3000 km, whereas it should be on 5000 km – workshop guy didn’t stop me from doing this (he should be aware), I by mistake got it early serviced. Nothing can be done now, but just lesson learnt!

Cheers!
