Wanted to try something different from our staple breakfast menu today,so hit the store to explore. I have seen this packet of ready-made pasta so many time whenever I visit any store, but didn't wish to buy anytime. I am particularly choosy to try out something new in the market,as I have many unpleasant experiences. I was thinking whether to try this new item or not, when I saw I am running out of time for breakfast. So took two packets and came back. It costs Rs. 14 for 65 gm in each pack, so t he fact was somehow comforting that I am not going to prepare some expensive waste!

Before I start, I was determined to see what are the contents in the pack. I put a bowl of water on the stove to prepare the sauce, meanwhile I can check the ingredients. This pack contains Penne pasta and a sauce maker. The pasta is made of 100% semolina as they claim, and the taste maker contains all Indian masala powders like ginger, onion powder, turmeric, chili, aniseed, cumin, clove, paprika, fenugreek ,etc. It has green peas, soybean, hydrolyzed groundnut protein, etc which make the breakfast wholesome and nutritious. It is a good source of Protein, fibre and the most important thing is it has no added MSG. The packet said that a serving of the entire content of one packet is equal to 2 servings of cereals, 25gm each. Well, now I got enough "Gyan" about Maggi pasta, now let me prepare it and taste. It will take only 5 minutes as they say,so the item will be prepared soon, I guessed.

I added the taste maker in the boiling water, allowed it to blend well. Then I added the pasta. The smell was yummy, but I felt something is missing. So I fried some capsicum and fresh onions in a separate wok, broke an egg to it,and mixed with some tomato sauce. When the pasta seemed to be ready, I added this mixture to the pasta sauce and mixed well. After 2 minutes,I removed the pasta from fire. The sauce was thick and the pasta boiled well. Now it's time to taste.............ohh,yummy! My plate was finished I no time,I could not resist the second helping too! Even my hubby, who is not at all an avid fan of pasta,he also finished his portion with a note of appreciation. Then he asked, "What's there for lunch?" I felt alarmed, " Rajma Chawal...why?" "Oh no," he said, "Please take out the box, after having this pasta I don't feel like eating that." I was more than surprised!!!!!!!!!!!!! He always avoids pasta, now he started liking it! Well, the credit goes to Maggi pasta,to be more correct, Pazzta! Now I am planning to try the different flavors and of course, with the slight addition of my choice of ingredients. I am happy that finally I found a breakfast item which brings a smile to my ever-serious hubby!
