I just had some couple of chances to have lunch at Abhinandhan Restaurant of Hotel Ashoka, which is located in an arterial place of Chennai, Chennai Egmore. The restaurant is located in a good calm area
and has nice interior decorations etc. Cool!
But start ordering, it takes real hell lot of time and you need to wait for more than 45 minutes for any dish, no matter what it is. The other day, I had to pay by Credit Card, the bill. The Waiter, I think, was feeling sleepy and he had two credit cards in his hand. When the bill came back to me, for signature, I could observe that I had been charged for a different bill. It was about two hundred rupees more than my bill amount.
When I insisted upon calling the Phone Banking of my bank or the Branch Manager, the guy sitting at the bill desk was reluctant and that jerk even did not know how to rollback the transaction and he was hitting his head hard against somebody else over the Intercom and after a good melodrama of thirty minutes, he was able to rollback the transaction and swipe the card for a fresh bill.
Even after this drama, the waiter was eager for some tips. He should only got a slap or two for all this mental agony from me and my friend. This is a real shame for the hotel and the hotel management to have engaged such irresponsible staff in their catering services.
I thought of writing a complaint, if complaint/suggestion book was available. The fellow at bill desk, even did not have a copy of the same and hence I was searching Google for their website and came to know that Madras Hotel Ashoka belonged to BalalGroup of Hotels, as observed from the following website: http://www.ballalgrouphotels.com/ashoka/
And hence I sent a formal complaint mail against the corrupt and lazy fellows at Madras Hotel Ashoka, Egmore, Chennai. I hope, the management of Hotel Ashoka, if they get an opportunity to read this review, could take some corrective action on the same.
