Hi all, I am using MTNL Triband for more than 6 months and I have found this service pretty good. I am using unlimited 256 Kbps plan with wireless router.In short I will tell you the following facts: Cost: 650 p.m.(it was 900 previously)for unlimited browsing and downloading. Speed: they say it is 256 Kbps i.e. 256 Kilo-Bits(Not KB or Kilo-Bytes)per Second that is download speed should be 256/8=32 Kilo-Bytes per second but(hold your breath) it gives a maximum of 225 KiloBytes per second(Download speed also depends on the website. you can easily get this speed if you download something from microsoft.com) that is 256 KiloByte= 2Mbps(2 Mega bits per second).In this way Tata-Indicom’s 2 Mbps is actually equal to MTNL’s 256 Kbps(May be MTNL doesn’t know it. WI-FI router: They also provide you WI-FI router on a nominal charge(around 300 Rs one time Security and 50 Rs. p.m.). This router can support upto 4 PC/Laptop. MTNL Guys told me that it will run in one mode only at a time that is i cant use wire and wi-fi at a time but they are wrong i use it in both mode simultaneously that is i use wire on my desktop and use wi-fi on laptop at the same time and it works perfectly. Customer service : good enough however the tone of customer care guys is not as friendly as it should be but it is ok. In short i will say MTNL provide much better service than they say(They may not know they are providing more than they say) at a lower cost at least in case of Triband. I used Tata-Indicom and Reliance previously and they both suck and were more costly and less faster. You can try it !
