I had been using MTNL broadband from last 12 years, it was one of the cheapest at first & was working nicely but, after some time we had some issues with it. The first problem was its speed which was at times less. After complaining they tackle this problem quite well.
Our new computer engineer who repairs our desktop told us that the problem is not with internet connection, the reason for the less speed is that there are many joints in the wires & every joint decreases the internet speed. He continued, " The MTNL is providing poor service by providing wires with joints, which is wrong on their part." The other thing I noticed when internet connection goes off the lineman comes & I notice him what he does. He just joins the same joints again & again as joints lose contact with other joint, the internet connection stops or something wrong happens with speed.
The connection where as is quite reliable & way better then Reliance broadband but MTNL's service was not better than Airtel. The computer engineer who comes is not ready to do any work, he will ask where is this icon, one icon is missing, get your computer checked, He has a very less knowledge of computer, it shows. He gets confused at times. If speed is slow, he will show the speed, which was low. And sometimes say get your computer check. What hurts most, he has so little knowledge of windows.
But, somehow he still manages things. On phone also they help on troubleshooting, that's good enough support on phone. With RS 700, unlimited broadband, for 512kbps, we can say some other ISP are providing high speed connection at the same price. But I have to admit there are many unreliable out of these.
