30/7/05 - Baggage not found
               Spoke to Ms Sonal at airport. Informed her that I
               would be leaving for Ranchi (1500Km). Was told by
               her that the bggage would be put on next flight to
               Ranchi as soon as found.
31/7/05- Spoke to ? Nikhil (male voice) and was told that
               baggage had been traced and would be sent to
               Ranchi by flight (note- only one flight from Delhi).
31/7/05- Evening- No signs of luggage at airport. Spoke to    Sonal. She said baggage had
               been sent to Ranchi by road!!!! Asked us to call back
               after she had checked with transport company. On
               calling back was told baggage would be in Ranchi at
               11.30 a.m. to 12 noon on 1/8/05.
1/8/05 - 2.00 p.m. - No signs of luggage. Sister in Law Spoke to Ms. Harmeet
             and was told that it had probably been sent by courier
             as I had not specified that it should be sent by air.
             Please note that I had not even been told that there
             was an alternative to having it sent by air. She asked to speak to someone senior. Ms,Harmeet said she was the person to
             talk to. Said she would talk to the transport people and
             call back in 10 minutes.
1/8/07 - 3.00p.m. - Ms Harmeet calls up my sister in law. Says
             that courier actually takes 48 hours and baggage will
              reach Ranchi on 2/8/05. Says that Mr. Parwez Khan is
              senior person but not in office. Eventually puts on a
             Mr. Shashi Shrivastav who has apparently just come
             on duty. Mr. Shashi makes soothing noises. Unable to
             explain why his staff gives consistently wrong
             information. Wants me to buy clothes and toiletries for
             which Lufthansa will partially reimburse me, but
             unable to say how they will compensate me for the
             work I am unable to do due to my missing luggage.
             Am due to take the Lufthansa flight back on 6/8/05.
Remarks -1) Lufthansa baggage staff are either deliberately
             misleading me or are clueless about their own
              procedures.
               2) Lufthansa people are more interested in brushing
               me off with standard lines than genuinely genuinely
              apologising for their apalling inefficiency.
Questions: Does someone have a cousin or brother in the courier company that they want to oblige?

Final Note: Am in Ranchi, with Luftahnsa’s princely compensation of Rs. 2000 in my pocket, and without my luggage, 3 days into my 7 day trip. Am desperately trying to change my return ticket to some other airline.
