When you get up in the mornings you have that nasty morning breath, we all do, don’t deny it! And sometimes during the day we get bad taste in our mouths or when we are sick we get bad taste in our mouths as well.

Mouthwash is good for such bad taste in addition to toothpaste. And some people, after brushing their teeth like to use a mouthwash afterwards. So do I. I also like to use a mouthwash when I am in a hurry to get out the door and need to freshen my mouth. There are sorts of mouthwashes out there from expensive ones to generic ones. And they come in all sorts of sizes and flavors. And some taste good and some don’t. But I have found one that we all like and it is made my Listerine®. Now most of the time I can’t stand the taste of Listerine® mouthwash but the WinterMint ™ is wonderful!

The Product
Tartar Control Listerine® WinterMint™ Antiseptic kills germs that cause bad breath, plaque and the gum disease Gingivitis. Accepted by the American Dental Association. ADA. Proven to kill germs by millions on contact. Use to prevent and fight tartar build up. Prevent and reduce plaque. Prevent and reduce gingivitis. Fight bad breath. Kill germs between teeth. Tartar control Listerine antiseptic has been shown to help prevent and reduce Supragingival plaque accumulation and gingivitis when used in a conscientiously applied program of oral hygiene and regular professional care. It has also been shown to help reduce the formation of tartar above the gum line. Its effect on periodontitis has not been determined. Council on scientific affairs, American Dental Association. Tartar Control Listerine® WinterMint™ comes in several sizes, but the size I buy the most is 1.05 pt. (500ml). The bottle is clear with a black cap. The mouthwash is blue. There are also travel sizes available which are wonderful to take in your purse to use during the day while at work or of course while traveling.

Directions
Rinse full strength for 30 seconds with 20 ml (2/3 fluid oz. or 4 teaspoonfuls) morning and night. If bad breath persists, consult your dentist. Generally I use a cap ½ a capful to a whole capful.

Ingredients
Thymol 0.064%, Eucalyptol 0.092%, Methyl Salicylate 0.060% and Menthol 0.042%. Also contains Water, Alcohol (21.6%), Sorbitol Solution, Flavoring, Poloxamer 407, Sodium Saccharin, Benzoic Acid, Zinc Chloride, sodium Benzoate, and FD&C Blue #1. Please read all ingredients before purchase to be sure you are not allergic.

Warnings
Do not administer to children under 12 years of age without consulting with a Dentist first. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. Do not swallow. In case of accidental overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately. Cold weather may cloud Tartar Control Listerine®. Its antiseptic properties are not affected.

How I feel
I like the WinterMint™ taste of this mouthwash. It leaves my mouth feeling fresh and minty clean! There is not horrible aftertaste as with some mouthwashes. The price is a little steep at times, but you can catch it on sale and there are sometimes coupons available. I have tried other Listerine® mouthwashes and I have to admit I do not like that medicine taste. The original Listerine® leaves that taste. There are other brands out there that leave that same medicine taste. And I don’t know about you guys but I don’t like that taste. I don’t like it when a mouthwash burns my mouth either. I have also tried some generic brands of mouthwash and I didn’t care much for them either. Most of them left a bad taste in my mouth after use. But this one, Tartar Control Listerine™ WinterMint™ always leaves my mouth feeling good. There is no bad after taste and the refreshing feeling that I get after each use is a wonderful feeling.
