I was brought up in the hills of Morth east in Shillong and from where I come from Tea is the main drink of the people. Tea helps us wake up to the cool and refreshing atmosphere of the hills. Tea stimulates us carry on our day to day activity with great vigour. We start our mornings with tea.... have a tea break in mid morning... have another tea break in the mid afternoon.. and relax with the family in the evening with tea... in extreme winter conditions.. tea is a frequent drink and it acts as insulator for the mountain people.

The native tribes of Shillong have tea and rice for dinner. It keeps them warm and cozy inside. We usually have the black tea which is fully oxidised and fermented.

I discovered Lipton Red Label by accident. I have tried Society Tea, Tata Tea and various other local tea leaves which is obtained straight from our gardens in Assam. No doubt, that the tea leaves which are straight from the gardens are excellent in terms of quality and taste. But it is not always possible to get it from the Gardens.

When I tried this brand I was delighted as it was very similar to the tea fresh from the tea gardens. I like my tea strong and this brand just seems to be the right flavour and taste. Strong and very refreshing.

This brand of tea consumes very little amount of tea leaves and 1 teaspoon can make 4 teacups approximately. That takes care of the cost. 1/2 a kg of tea lasts me for quite sometime. The cost of the tea is bit on the higher side but I personally think its worth it.

As for the taste, you have got to try it out. But you must like strong tea. This is definitely of the stronger variety. If you dont like too strong a tea, then you could try Lipton Green Label,etc.

This makes an excellent masala tea ,Lemon tea or ginger tea.

This definitely is my brand and my type of tea.
