Lipton has always been one of our favorite teas. It has a very pleasant taste, especially the decaffeinated tea. The difference between the regular caffeinated tea and the decaffeinated tea is that the decaffeinated tea has no bitter taste and will not keep you up at night. Both my husband and me get episodes of fast heartrates, so this tea has really made it easy for us to adjust to decaffeinated drinks!

We like to brew a family size tea bag in about 16 ounces of water. After it comes to a boil, we pour the tea into a pitcher of lukewarm water. The main point in brewing tea it to make sure that you do not boil it too long. That will make your tea quite bitter and give it a strong flavor. We usually put a sugar substitute with each glass of tea. Lipton tea is also very soothing to a sore throat. I like to mix a bit of honey and sugar substitute in a cup of tea. Then I microwave the cup of tea approximately one minute. This allows the honey to dissolve and the warmth of the tea soothes my sore throat. My husband Randy liked it so much that he ended up drinking an entire pitcher of decaffeinated tea in one evening!

We have tried other brands of decaffeinated tea including the instant type with lemon flavor, but we felt that they all were bitter and weak. We usually buy the family size tea bags because we always make at least one pitcher at a time and we can easily pour a cup and heat it up in the microwave if we want to. I prefer iced tea with my meals. If you are on a diet and you get tired of drinking plain water, tea is a great change.
