This is a heads up for all who are trying to buy a tab with calling facility. Please buy this tab if you don't use 3G and you don't use it for calling. Cause I bought this product online from Amazon.in on 25th Oct 2013, it was shipped to me on 28th Oct 2013, had tested the product with dual sim facility(I didn't have a 3g data enabled). It was working fine, only the battery life was short(but any new battery will take time to get tamed), but after 4- 6 days it was really good compared to Samsung or Sony or Micromax.

But when I ordered for the 3G sim and started using it, it supervised me. Both the tower signals would go off and then came back one by one. And then I started using it, speed was good, performance was really good. But after downloading nearly 900 MB of apps and data, I saw that the signal in 3g went dead.

I took the sim to the Vodafone stores and check with another sim it worked fine, and they said some sim cards would fail and replaced. Then I noted that after 8-12 hrs the second sim also went dead. 3G was not working but 2 g would work on other mobiles. So I went back to Vodafone stores again and replaced the next sim. Now I started to monitor the tab closely. The observation: After 8-12 hrs the sim was failing.  the 3g circuit was going dead.  it was burnt by this mobile.

So by the time I realized that my tab was burning the sim, it was 8th Nov 2013(10th day from receiving the tab). I contacted the Lenovo care team over the phone and they gave me a service center number and a ticket number: 8002079739. I contacted the Velachery service center(Qubic Solutions - 9042424646 - Mr. Arun), he was really cool, and asked me to bring it to his center.

I visited his center and they gave me a service request number: 7020827479. and said this has passed the replacement period. But I was sure that this is a manufacturing fault and so will be replaced, but they refused to do so. I have  request them several times to replace but no response. I had received a call from Mr.Arun that my part has come, I asked what part, he said the whole board.

I then decided to go and at least replace the mother board, but to my surprise my serial number mentioned in the service request was wrong(HB04WZT4 was miss typed as HB04W2T4) for which they said it will take some more time to have the corrected done, only after which it would be possible for them to repair.

Note: When I was waiting in the service center, I saw another gentleman waiting with a A1000 calling tab, I started a conversation and found that his tab also has signaling problem, it goes off very often. So I think its a serious problem that all Lenovo's have.

So I came back as I am working for Wipro Technologies and I can't wait for another hour or spend some more time calling the lencare. I have again email the lencare@lenovo.com but there is still no response.

I selected this product because of its reputation. I have Lenovo laptops and their performances were really good. But they lack experience in 3G technology(I think). I will keep you all updated of my upcoming experiences.

I am sure we would not like to invest our hard earned money on products that has known/common issues. That's when I planned to let the other buyers know that there is a problem with this product.

Regards,

Darius.
