MOTHER'S DAY!!!
I silently crept out of my room, hastily brushed my teeth and set about preparing tea for my Mom. It was Mother's Day, and I wanted her to feel extra-special! CLANG!!!!!
Suddenly, the floor was swimming in milk! I glanced at the door of the room where Mom was sleepign, afraid the noise had woken her up. It hadn't. Heaving a sigh of relief, I hastily tried to mop up the mess I had made, assisted more than eagerly by Tabby, our cat, who was probably glad to have got his morning cuppa so early.
Holding the cup on a tray, I tiptoed towards my Mom's room. As I looked at her face, I felt a rush of gratitude towards my mother - she is 44, but still, I feel that my mother is the most beautiful woman on the earth. She has a nice, pleasant face, soft, white cheeks, and full lips. Sometimes, she rather reminds me of Marilyn Monroe!!
And I have much to be thankful to Lakmé for! In our house, the word Lakmé has become synonymous with my mother. Lakmé lipsticks, Lakmé Eye-shadow, Lakmé Moisturisers, Lakmé Mascaras, Lakmé's Cleansing Range, you name it, she has it! So it was no big surprise for me when she came home from shopping the other day bringing yet another Lakmé product with her: Lakmé Peach Milk Moisturiser.

You know those teenage years when your skin breaks out in a flood of pimples, blackheads, and horrible bumps. As a young child, my Mom had always taught me to take good care of my skin, and thanks to her (and Lakmé of course!), I have smooth, healthy skin even today at 17, the peak of my teens! (I assure you guys, girls just love it!).
After I had had my bath, I eagerly took the bottle out from the dresser-showcase where Mom had kept it. At the first sight, I fell in love with it! I loved the pale pink-offwhite colour of the bottle, I loved the dark-green cap, and I loved the way they printed 'Lakmé' between two shining gold lines.
'Natural Peach Milk easily soaks into and softens your skin like never before', I read on the bottle. 'Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant that conditions and protects your skin against skin-damaging environmental elements, to give you soft and radiant skin.'
WOW! That was impressive! I squeezed a small amount of the moisturiser on my palm, and was immediately surrounded by the soft, wafting fragrance of fresh peach. I gently massaged it onto my face as indicated on the bottle. At first, it felt cold and clammy, but gradually, I could feel it actually being soaked up by my skin.
Lakmé Peach Milk Moisturiser is enriched with Vitamin E and contains a fair amount of natural Peach Milk Extracts.
For all you folks who can understand the stuff, here are the key ingrediants as printed on the bottle:
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit. E Acetate), Tocopherol (Vit E), Peach (Prunus Persica) Extract.
It has a nice, peachy, tasty smell that actually makes you want to eat the stuff! It is siutable for all skin types and can be used in all seasons. Since it is only a moisturiser, it is NOT oil-based, so you won't get that sticky, chip-chip feeling you get with cold-cream. However, I recommend that you apply some cold-cream after using this, so that the oil-balance of your skin is retained, especially for dry-skinned people.
All in all, this a good product. I'll give it 4 stars out of 5. I took one star off because I don't think there will be many takers for this product price at Rs. 78/- for 120 ml! But hey, with a brand name like Lakmé, you can be assured of the best of quality!

My Mom slowly opened her eyes. She smiled when she saw me holding the tea-tray. I swear she looked exactly like Marilyn Monroe then, with her sparkling eyes and all! As I gave her the tea, I again fely that rush of gratitude and respect for my Mom. After all, beauty is but skin-deep. Its the soul and conscience that really matter!
''Happy Mother's Day, Mom!'' I said. My mother took me into her arms and I kissed her.
