So I went to the Lakme Salon in Kharghar to get my normal root touch up, but when I got there...this girl who I had never seen before was in charge of my color...fine I said...but it seemed like she was completed lost...not a good sign...she couldn't even find the color I have been getting all this time...
Even the ladies behind the counter didn't have record of my hair color...what is this 1940's? Could they not just keep track of a simple color? Finally the girl says she found it...she also suggest a "hair spa" to prevent damage to my hair after the color. So I was like true...coloring hair or roots can be a bit damaging...so I agreed to it afterwards...
Once it was time to rinse out my hair color I could immediately see that the roots were much much darker than the rest of my hair...and after blowing drying it out...it was sooo obvious! It looked like I was wearing a black hat that came just above my ears...and the rest of the hair below was brown!
I was sooo outraged! I pulled the tip of my hair up to the top of my head to show the girl....how obvious it was that she missed the matching of the color completely!! All I could think of was how could she possible correct this?? Once you color your hair...you definitely cannot go back & recolor it...unless!! I'm sitting at the fancies salons that know exactly how this is done.
I'm from America...just moved to Navi Mumbai...so me & hair...are definitely something I know lots about. When I complained to the ladies sitting in the front...they didn't seem to care...they insisted that "the lights in the room" where making it appear darker...what?? Are they serious?? Do they realize what they just said??
So I said fine...I'm going home...BUT if after 3 days IT does not look any better...I'm coming back & YOU’RE fixing it! Once I got home...my husband & friends said yes, they could totally see where the black color ended & where the brown color began...I looked ridiculous...
And after 3 days I just became angrier that my hair looked awful & I had to walk around like this. So I made another appt...and when I got their the girl behind the desk said she wasn't too sure If I would have to pay for it. Ommmgee!! Is she serious?? Does she not realize who she's dealing with?? So I told her...you will pay for it & you will pay for another hair spa...since it's obvious colouring my hair in less than 3 days is going to really damage it....so she was like...fine...I'll just confirm w/my manger...and I said I don't care who you confirm it with...it's going to get done...
So sure enough...hair color goes on & rinse comes out...and Dam! The same color is still there! Black on top & brown on the bottom...by now I didn't give a sht who heard me yelling...I was pssed! "Look what you've done" I said...and that's when the curly haired manager walks over...and says "Hmm...yes...I see"..."they have done a bad job...I'm not too sure why the 1st girl used black instead of brown"..."I'm really sorry...please let me do a hair spa to fix the dryness that has occurred...and please let us make it right & come back in 15 days".... What?? Is she serious? How will 15 days make a difference???
Does she have any idea what the words "semi/permanent color means"?? Did she go to any Hair Academy?? Really...how can you possibly be in charge & have no idea the rules of coloring hair. So I explained how it would be a waste of time to come back for a 3rd color! I was so mad that this happen again!! So I said "no, I want a refund" and the mang said "Please...allow me to correct it...I know we can". So feeling sooo angry I just said fine & left.
The next day I visited Juice Salon & I had them look at it...& their "color expert" said yes, the color is completely wrong but DO NOT color it for a 3rd time! It will just damage my hair beyond repair! He suggested I wait 5 months...let the new hair grow in & then try to trim off the black & the brown & start fresh.
And that's what I decided...so when I called Lakme to cancel my appt...I expected them to have some remorse....but they didn't....they acted like it was no big deal...like I thought it was cool to walk around the town looking ridiculous....even the manager never called me back to offer apologies, refunds...nothing.
Wow....after being a loyal customer to Lakme for almost a yr...this is the thanks I got. I will never ever ever go to them again!! Best of luck to anyone who wants to get their hair colored by them.
