Laddiki is considered the gateway to Wayanad and can be reached after crossing the Thamarassery ghat pass. lakkidi is mostly evergreen forest and is know because it gets one of highest rainfalls in the country. The local attractions include the said view point, the chain tree around which a local myth is associated and a number of resorts. The most important attraction near lakkidi is the pookot lake.
The view point is located on the side of kozikode-wayanad nh212 and most people coming to wayanad are sure to pass through it. There is nothing too special about it, but a long straight portion of the road which offers a good view of the surrounding hills and also the winding road along the ghat. The view is quite good especially if the climate is misty and also it is a good time pass to observe the vehicles, especially the large trucks and buses making their way though the road. The point was not built to be so, therefore there is no special provision for parking, you have to park parallel to the road. Also as it a somewhat busy road, you wont be able to observe the natural beauty in peace and quiet.
People having a tour of wayanad is sure to pass through the point and it will be a good idea to stop and have a peek.
