Hi folks,
Been to Lake Pavna resort near Lonavala recently and hence sharing my experience. Last 8 kms leading to the resort are not so good. This resort has to be among Club Mahindras largest and therefore there are issues related to commuting although there is a buggy service in place.
The amenities provided in the room are of the highest quality. The hospitality is also of the highest quality. Did not see any room for complaints here. There are 3 swimming pools of which 2 are functional.
There is a fun zone area where most of the games are charged and quite expensive. There is adventure in the form of trekking, night camping and valley crossing etc. I took the guided trek and believe me it was worth the money. There is a dearth of flora and fauna within the resort and this is an area the mgmt must address immediately.
The food is of the highest quality and we have a very responsive chef who knows his business. Food is very expensive. Also there is a nice open ground where we could play cricket. Don't know what they plan to do with this space.
I had been to Ashtamudi earlier and found the experience similarly good. To sum up I think if a person can afford to pay that much extra he/she should visit this place esp in the rains. A lot has been said about other places being less expensive.
Finally it is a tossup between the cost and quality of the resort and I personally prefer the later. Remember that as Indians most of us are deprived of holidays apart from running to our native place occasionally. With Club Mahindra membership now we will be forced to take a vacation.
The problems with reservations will not go away so soon but at least the quality is guaranteed. Next months trip to Dharamshala. Hope for a similar but lighter experience.
