Lic jeevananand policy I had held for 20 long years and paid premiums regularly except one year I had paid the premium after stipulated time mistakenly and I admit I should have remembered the time but can LIC deny their responsibility of reminding me and by a simple mail.
I had got money after the stipulated time, its true .But it seemed their was a mismatch between the amount given to me and assured to me.Yes, I am not talking of "sum assured " .
But there are two more parts like accrued benefit and cumulative bonus .There is a mismatch .Apart from the agent who sold me the scheme no longer associated with LIC the year I forgot to pay premium due to various reasons but I wonder why LIC is not modern in terms of remindind customers at the time of paying premium and even in 2015.
I agree that when the life of the insurance product began, email didn't exist but later I went to the branch and upgraded my mail Id assuming they would send me mail to remind as well as they would make me aware of other new products launched in recent year.Surprisingly enough no mail came, no phone call given to mobile( upgraded later when mobile boomed in India and I got my number) even no call came to my land phone .I had to pay late fee( so little it may be) but who will take the onus!
Conclusion: LIC is a hackneyed, not so modern, clumsy organization or netter saying they have not improved themselves competently along with improvement in society and technology in order to fetch that "expected service or real benefit ".On completion I got a lumpsome and it was deposited in my savings and at the middle I got two different installments.
