This is my second review on MS.This time, I am going to write a review on LG KG300(DYNAMITE).I bought this phone on Dec ’06 for 10k.This phone was launched to beat its segment rival, SONY ERICSSON k750i. I own both the LG DYNAMITE & k750i. My review here is only based on my own personal experiences with these phones.

Let me tell you the features of LG KG300. It has got a 262k color screen display, 2 megapixel camera, Mp3 player, FM radio with recording, Bluetooth, 60mb built-in memory and it supports external memory cards(mini sd).Ok…now lets start with the call reception. The LG performs okay in this department, its not that loud but its at least clear to hear what the guy at the other end is saying.(It also depends upon your cell network).Moving on, the menus in this phone are really user friendly.I have to say that you have to get used to the new LG keypad because its really flat and you tend to press the other keys accidentally. Here, I think I would prefer LG over k750i because sony’s joystick can be nasty at times.Next comes the megapixel camera of the Dynamite. This phone has a 2 megapixel camera, that takes pictures at a resolution of 1600x1200 compared to 1632x1224 resolution of k750i.The LG lets you take pics in different sizes, 1600x1200, 800x600, 640x480&320x240.Here, I think the 800x600 reso. would help those who are running short of memory.Well, the camera quality of LG comes nowhere near to the k750i.Lg does take some good pics during daytime but during night, this phone simply lets you down.Even its so called “night-mode” won’t help you.The k750i wins by a good margin in this area. But, you can’t completely ignore the LG, because of its 2 megapixel and considering its price, its failures can be forgiven.

Now, lets see its memory. The DYNAMITE has 60mb built in memory. It also has an expandable memory.I use 1gb mini sd card in this phone, and it showed no signs of slowing down at all. This phone performs the role of a pen drive perfectly, which brings me to its usb connectivity. Here, it has a slight edge over k750i because to plug in this phone to a pc, you don’t need a software cd.The minute you plug the cable in, the pc recognizes the phone as a removable disk and transferring music and photos are made so much easy and your phone can also be charged through this. And I should also mention this: every folder you create through

pc can be recognized through phone.(I actually copied a “NEED FOR SPEED 7” game from my friend’s pc to it and I saw each installation file through the phone!!)I missed this feature in k750i.Yes, the USB cable and handsfree are also provided with the phone.Next comes the phone’s Mp3 player. The mp3 player fails to excite music freaks like me.But, it is ok.It has some 4 or five equalizer settings(rock, pop etc). The mp3 songs can also be set as ringtones. The phone has some ringtones in it but I didn’t find them good. But, what annoyed the most was the message alert tones. It has only 5 msg tones and that too real stupid ones. The phone also features Bluetooth but misses infrared.I also noticed that installing java games in this phone is a problem.Since I am not crazy about those things, it didn’t bother me much. The phone also has gprs and mms functions and it does ok even though configuring mms settings in this phone was a bit hard at first. Finally, the phone’s battery ain’t that bad.It would last whole day under normal conditions.

Ok, my review stops here.Hope it helped those looking for a new phone. In my view, this is the best ever phone manufactured by LG.In the end, it depends on what you want in the phone. If you are ready to shell out some good cash, go for Sony Ericsson k750i which costs around 8k now, or if you are short of cash LG would be a good deal. I would prefer k750i over LG because of its brilliant sound and camera quality.Otherwise, the LG DYNAMITE is a great phone to own.The rest is upto you.Feel free to rate my review and if you have any doubts, mail me or post it in comments section:-)
