The very first time LG Came to market some 10 years back, I saw the TV at a show room and simply liked for its best picture and sound quality as compared to equivalent category brands.
I just went for a 14" TV which had all the features as a normal TV has.
After that I was impressed with the products performance and went for a colour monitor for my computer also.
Then after 10 years now I went in for LG Fritz, then another TV: LG-Flatron-1200W.
But this time I am diappointed to see some very good features which the earlier version had were missing. Details are as under:
Surfing channels and re-arranging, skipping, deleting etc. was a child's play earlier, but is very complicated and time consuming in this new model.
If you don't attend to TV continuosly for 2 hours it used to get switched off automatically. This feature is missing in such a costly equipment.
Whenever power goes off and again comes, the latest TV goes on which was not the case in earlier model (this feature is very important when power supply went off and you left house without switching off, when power resumes the TV starts playing continuosly without going off on itself thereby making the model more user unfriendly)
Overall opinion: No doubt the TV is very good in terms of picture quality, sound, Games and compatibility to external devices like DVD etc. Such a costly equipment does not come with some most user friendly features which were available in their earlier model as explained above. This drawback is may be due to company's decission and not that of Technology....!
Channel switching time is too long...!
Suggestion to TV company:
While introducing some new features to make the model more user friendly do not forget the features which were really good and accepted by user in earlier models.
One important feature may be added: At a touch of button the display should go off and it should work as a music system so that this feature can be used when not actually watching TV but hearing to it. This will save unwanted use of picture tube thereby increasing life of Picture tube also....! Is it not a great Idea....? If it's really acceptable and can be brought to effect in their future models, I should be rewarded for this Great Idea Isn't it...?
The switching time taken for channel to channel is very long as compared to other brand of similar TV's.
