LG B200:Simply silver. Review on LG B2000

Ok so here I am back to review LG B200.

well let us take a look at the exterior of the phone, this handset is 105.5 x 44 x 15.9 mm in size and weighs 73gms, this handset fits easily into the palm and is quite comfortable, one can go for different colour looks but only for the front panel as there is no way of changing the whole outlook.

the handset has a screen which is 65K colour STN with a resolution of 128x128 pixels intresting, picture qualitty isnot crisp or sharp its average and the universla problem lies here also :(The screen fades considerebly under the sun.

the keypad of this handset I must say are quite comfy and are placed well with blue backlight which evenly illuminates all the keys and it also has 4directional navigation button.

The place for the strap is placed at the top and the bottom of the phone has the interface connector, on the left side we will find the head set connector hidden with a rubber padding.

the back of this phone hides the battery which is 780mAh Li-Ion battery and according to the manual the battery is supposed to last 250 hours in the standby mode and up to 3.5 hours in the talk mode but when tested on an average it lasts for 2days , and for recharging the battery completely it takes around 1 1/2 hrs approx.

Organiser:

this phone's organiser has the capability of saving 20 events

Call lists:

the call list can store 15 nos of each incoming, outgoing and missed calls.

sms:

this handset is equipped with support for EMS which will allow to attach melodies and pictures to the messages.

this handset also supports MMS by default the sms are saved in the sim and only after that you can fill the internal memory and this cannot be changed.

Applications:

this handset has the capability of the following applications (Alarm Clock, Unit Converter, world time, voice recorder (Dictaphone) one drawback with the Dictaphone is it does not have the capability to record during conversation and it can be done only in the stand-by-mode and duration of the recording is 19 secs.

Memory:

This phone has 1.65MB of Dynamic memory and takes some time to open the java applications.

This phone also has the facility of GPRS(class 10) and WAP ver1.2.1 but it will need applications written specifically for LG.

Games:

this device supports MIDP 1.0and comes with 2 built in games (Halloween fever, Action in Life)

FM Radio:

to make the radio functional you need to keep the headset plugged in, has an auto search, has the capability of saving 10 frequencies, one more drawback is changing channel from the headset is not possible, while the plus point is the radio can play in the background while you fiddle with the phone or compose an sms, another drawback you cannot name the channels but only the frequency is available like 107.8 :), the quality of the radio is Coooool and can be compared to other handsets with good quality radio.

Phone Book:

this phone has the option of saving 200 addresses.

ADVANTAGES

1)FM Radio is coool

2)Keypad designed for ease of use

3)Looks are fine

DISADVANTAGES

1) The screen fades considerebly under the sun

2) polyphonic sound is below average

3) the call quality is below average and one does have problems in noisy environment

4) vibra is below average or at the best average...............

This phone is not for the CHIC ppl and the power user

well for me I will take it if given free :) :)
