Sequels can work in India is what success of this film proved. Moreover, it is also quite exciting to see hi-tech action owing also to great visual effects that so far you only saw in Hollywood movies and here for the first time, when your desi hero is performing the same, makes your kids happy. Guess what, if your kid is happy you are bound to be happy. A happy family portrait cuts into producer and distributor laughing their way to bank. Therefore, I fail to understand a big deal made out by our eminent business schools of studying its business model or for that matter a super great secret formula of turning box office fortunes. Perhaps, they know it better. Yes, Apna Hrithik gets into the mould of a super hero, quite convincingly, and moderate amount of stunts he did is one reason to make this film a special one. If you have gone to watch this film only for this very reason then yes it is a value for money and time.

The drawback here is weak story, highly predictable screenplay, quite mediocre climax with not much dramatic tension building up as required, and if that is not all-the Ist half is slow and typical bollywood masala films type. The music and songs are also a let down.

Heroine still just has to be in her sensuous best that manages to hook a poor villager by her seductress moves. Plus she needs to be pretty dumb to believe in ghost stories floated by a village bumpkin, Oh I got it she actually works in a popular TV channel….., now better I should not say anything further controversial here. Oh, how convincingly she does it..na. Great acting indeed! In the super-hero tales you need a villain of equal magnitude and dimensions, whose acts should also be frightening and menacing enough to give rise to need of a super hero. Do we really need to a super hero to fight a modest villain character like Dr. Arya? Any ordinary status hero will do the job here, by just beating up his goons and him..

Some direction flaws-Krishna (Hrithik) is brought up in a remote countryside. There was no computer at his home and neither was there any possibility that he can learn it from any where close by. How is it possible that when he comes face to face with Dr. Arya (Naseeruddin), he seems to be quite an expert in using computers and that too hi-tech ones. Secondly, Rohit, the father of Krishna, whose speech disorder cured in KMG (the prequel), seems to have again developed the same in this sequel. Songs are a disappointment but yes, this happens to be best work of cinematographer Santosh C.Thundiyil so far.

I have no problem if due to great marketing exercise the kids who live in their own fantasy world starts believing in the super heroes and this helps in generating enough box office moolah. But yes, while coming out of the theatre, I heard a tiny tot speaking to his father-.

-“Papa papa wo krrish uncle sab kuchh kar sakte hain na?”

-“Haan beta.”

-“To phir wo un bomb blast karnewalon ko bhi pakad kar laayenge aur saza deinge na?”

I believe now the father should have a valid answer otherwise for these super-hero admiring kids our own real heroes viz. Gandhi/Nehru/Bhagat singh would appear a trivial, mediocre personalities.

All in all, a growing admiration society for imaginary superheroes, which is an ages old product of western consumerist Society is finally arrived here too. Go, enjoy.
