There were no brilliant fight sequences as anticipated from this one. The movie was good for kids but the emotional turmoil of the Spiderman, which helped connect the movie with the grown ups was probably too much for RR to match.

The first half, though stretched a bit too long, was good, especially for its lighthearted comedy and the beautifully coy Priyanka Chopra. Talking of her, when I first saw her, I felt, here comes the lady who can step in the shoes of the likes of Madhuri, Kajol. Though Ash was more beautiful, never could connect as the quintessential Indian women. She was, may be, too perfect. In contrast, the crooked teeth or tooth of PC adds to that appeal of a lady. And off as well screen she comes out to be a better grounded person. Coming back to the movie, she effortlessly portrays the role of the confused journalist. The Bhoot sequence where the ‘Shuklaji’ tells her that the person who saved her life and who flashes up in front of her every now and then is the Ghost of Kalicharan and she is her love interest Rupa of the previous birth, is a hilarious one. However, it could have been developed and climaxed better.

When compelled by here professional demands, she has to invite Krishna to Singapore, one expects that the action will start right away. But this is no Rumble in the Bronx. Moreover, somehow I always find the artwork and special effects of Koi series seriuolsy lacking by the standard of a sci-fi. At least what Spielberg did in the Back to the Future series score of years ago, that level can be expected of the today’s bollywood flicks, especially the ones boasting of foreign locales and technical support. On that count I can give five stars to KANK for its canvas. And Three to Krish. Except for the flying sequences of HR in his valley, the action sequences happening in Singapore fall flat from a non-kid’s perspective.

What was especially striking was the Copy Paste imitation of the time machine or computer GUI and the concept from Paycheck (Ben Affleck, Uma Thurman). Not that it does not require time and resource even to copy and copy they did beautifully. The mimics and touch screen and movable windows and the works were beautifully done. Impressive to the kids and elders alike.

The mad scientist of Naseeruddin shah overdoes the soliloquy bit. Too much talking to self can make a villain as cheap as the what- his name-was Gulshan Grover in Tom Dick and Harry. The makeup of Rohit as the poisoned half living scientist was superb.

The final chase sequence in which the amphibious capabilities, apart from flying skills of Krrish were on display was the highlight of his Character. But the superhuman capabilities of Krissh need to be defined in a more categorical way. Hope to see that in the Krrish-II.

The fight sequence in the end at the Villain’s den was good if not OK. A lot left to be desired. Fights in Gagster were more ably shot. Probably I was expecting Commando. However the Matrix inspired bullet stop was a good one.

In the end when mother is greeted by the son on his ‘Death’ anniversary is a seen which carried some punch. Rekha did her bit gracefully in the role of GM. But the emotions in the interaction with the grandson who was torn between his love for her and that for the love interest Priyanka does not pull at your heartstrings, though came very close to doing that.

Sorry, but the music is listless except for the Koi Tumsa Nahin no. Interestingly initially the title of the movie was KTS. Sonu impresses once again and the enhanced echo lends sublimity to the line “Ye Khabar ayee hai….”. May be expecting a KNPH once again is asking for too much.

LBNTL, Hrithik is his usual honest actor.. In any case, it is a Hirthik Movie and that is it. Fans of Hrithik will fill up the theatres and fortunately there are many enough to make this movie one of the biggest grocers. Though sadly, signs of receding hairline are becoming evident. Hope the heredity does not catch up with him so soon.

The movie has done well and will keep doing so because it is a clean family fun and the kids will pull their parents to theatre despite KANK till the release of Munnabhai Lage Raho. I expect a lot from Raju-Vidhu and hope they do not disappoint.
