If it is sizzlers that you wish to have,then Kobe’s is the right place to go to.Of course, there is Yoko’s also at Santa Cruz but Kobe’s is it.Believe it or faint,there are so many people in Bombay who do not know what sizzlers are.Though they have been there in Bombay since the sixties not many folks are aware of what exactly sizzlers are.
      Let me enlighten you.Basically it is a platter of select items,namely,assorted veggies,your choice of meat,some potato fries and lots of cheese which is mainly cheddar cheese.Mind you,this meal is not for the calorie conscious or for the squeamish at heart.This is heartily recommended for those who believe in the adage of,’’Eat,drink and be merry,for tomorrow you may diet.’’
      The name,Sizzlers comes from the fact that this whole item is put on an iron platter which is then put in to an oven for upto five minutes at very high temperatures and gets cooked within 3 minutes or so.By the time it is ready to be served on your table it is sizzling away merrily and has a sizzling sound typical to it.People in the know will know what I am talking about.A piece of advice here, to the uninitiated.As soon as the Sizzler comes to your table,please keep it away at a distance from you because there are so many tiny droplets of the gravy flying around and most likely you will find that out at the end of your meal that your shirt front has been inundated by them!!!!
       Another thing is that as soon as the item is presented to you,please take the knife and the fork provided to you to quickly turn around the veggies and the fries so that they do not stick on the iron platter.Need I remind you that the food looks very enticing and please be not in a hurry to put it in your mouth because the stuff is absolutely hot,and I mean hot.They have a wide choice of sizzlers to choose from and their all time favourite is still the beef steak.There are other items like the sandwich blocks which are also very filling but then Kobe’s made steaks their trademark.Have the iced tea over here to wash your steak down.It is marvellous.And if you have a sweet tooth then I heartily recommend their chocolate mousse.It is the melt in the mouth variety and is just too good for words.The guys at Mouth Shut have forgotten to mention here that Kobe’s has another branch at Chowpatty in Bombay which was the first in the series.In order to avoid disappointment please call up and reserve a table before you go there or else,you might have to wait almost half an hour before you get to your table.In conclusion I would say that Kobe’s is just the place if you desire a gastronomic orgasm!!!!Yeah it’s that good.
