The story is one of selfless love, pain, guilt, destruction and finally, the character's attempt at revival. The story flows in a way that makes you feel as if it is a first-person account, which is why the author's writing style too, deserves a special mention, especially since this is his first book.
The story is about the protagonist and his childhood playpal who loves him as his brother. Somewhere ahead, childhood jealousy for the father's love keeps the protagonist from returning the selfless love of his friend. And then the story moves towards Taliban, war and separation. Years later, something brings the protagonist back to finding out about his old friend and an attempt to set things right.
